With an expected 1.4 million graduates this year, the first batch of K12 graduates are faced with the hard choice of finding an opportunity to pursue their dream careers or settling with a blue-collared job.
Adding to the challenge is the reluctance of most private corporations, raising concerns about their ‘readiness’ and their skill level. Only 1 out 5 corporations are willing to take the ‘risk’ of hiring them.
XS Multimedia provides a different perspective.
The globally-awarded creative innovations corporation believes in developing young talents and in providing equal opportunity for those who seek it.
Understanding the struggles of cutthroat competition and finding opportunities, XS Multimedia decided to open its doors to brutally creative but underprivileged K12 graduates who dreams of pursuing a career in advertising and design with XS Out Of School.
You learn more Out of School
With a roster of local and international clients, homegrown talents and in-house resources, XS Out of School was a natural step to take for XS Multimedia.
The applied learning program, which is patterned after the company’s efficient and immersive internship program for university students, XS Interns, aims to hire and train one brutally talented but underprivileged K12 graduate. The ‘hire’ will be provided with a package just like any XS employee, plus an intensive mentorship program, complete with trainings and classroom-set up discussion tackling subjects such as graphic design, copywriting and advertising. The program will run for a year, after which the individual may opt out and pursue a career outside of the company or be absorbed as a regular employee.
There is no catch, but the screening process will be meticulous. Up front, the applicant must be a K12 graduate with exceptional creative talent. Applicants coming from low income families and located within Quezon City will be given priority.
Talent can be easily found anywhere. But brutal creativity – the drive to learn, the grit to do the work, and the passion to create – it’s a rarity and something you may only see in the young.
