How To Win A Client Pitch

At XS Multimedia, we make sure we give our best during client pitches. As what our founder always say, attend the pitch well prepared or not participate at all. As a result, our pitch win rate still scores from 95 to 99%. Our beloved clients and rival agencies can attest to that. *wink

Pitching means presenting your marketing ideas, promoting your products, or persuading your clients to get you as their agency if record. Now to win a client pitch, it is essential to propose innovative and creative ideas.

In short, think outside the box or think with no box at all. To gain the client’s trust and attention, do something that is not conventional.

Now for advertising pitches, presentation is one of the best ways. However, if you want to ace your pitch presentation, there are specific rules or cautions that you should follow.

Here are five of the simplest things you should take into consideration if you want to win a pitch.

  1. Prepare the presentation beforehand

Preparation is essential, especially for new businesses that don’t have any experience winning a client’s pitch. Watch tutorials and, if you can, then take suggestions from successful agencies before you. Rehearse till you no longer need to.

A presentation should be like storytelling; your ideas must flow through your mouth. Your body language must be evidence of your passion.

  1. Think outside the box

As mentioned above, innovation is the key to gaining business success. Many people, especially those who have started a new agency, tend to play it safe.

Hence, they cannot give their all in the presentation and thus, don’t win the client pitch. Due to this small mistake, many of the agencies fail to succeed. In today’s age, you have to think unique and significant to make your agency successful.

  1. Make an enjoyable and structured presentation

Many of the agencies fail to make an enjoyable presentation and make the clients bored. The reaction can be seen from their faces or the deafening sound of mute in a zoom presentation which may further dishearten you.

But if you want to be the best, then you must act like one. Know that the first impression is the last.

Speak with confidence, thank the client for coming or attending, use gestures and tools to explain your idea, make the presentation interesting, include your team in the production, also have the client’s feedback from time to time, ask them questions, explain your plan in complete detail, include jokes in between, finally end with a special note and ask if they have any questions.

And if you are not prepared yet, choose a person from your agency who you can trust completely. Who do you think can carry the presentation well and follow the above-mentioned vital points.

  1. Identify your client

To win a  pitch, it is essential to know what your client is looking for. Make sure to provide what they need.

It would help if you also did prior research about your client. Know what they like and dislike, their attitude and personality.

  1. Keep a positive attitude

The people who have just started an agency are pretty conscious about their business as they have invested a lot of time and money.

Hence, with a slight disturbance, like a dispute with your client or any issue between teams, they can lose control and break a good relationship.

Keep a positive and relaxed attitude throughout the process, even if a slight misunderstanding occurs. Resolve any of the problems with a positivity and flexibility.

Wrap Up

These are the key components you must take care of, especially if you are running a new agency. There is much competition in the industry, and the only way you must think about going is forward. Take a step with confidence. Move with a positive energy and mark your position in this cut throat advertising industry.
