Culture And Mindset: How These Popular Anime Series Survived Over Time

One factor– common denominator.

Having anime biases and more of personal favorites make us truly invested in the name. Any anime fan should be acquainted with the term “Big Three”, which refers to the three most popular and influential anime series since time immemorial.

Anime is one of the most popular genres in entertainment, and several shows and films have made history. Anime is truly popular not only in Southeast Asian countries but in all sides of the earth.  Aside from it pushes the boundaries of the status quo with unique characters and stories, it also expands beyond reality as anime often showcases magic, Japanese tale, and superpowers. It also extends beyond usual Western movies and shows, giving audiences a repository of novel plots, ideas, and characters.

Introducing the Big Three of Anime

There are a lot of good anime films in the long run but the these big three are categorized as the fairest of them all: One Piece, Naruto, Dragon Ball Z. These particular anime series differ in a lot of things but they all standout as their own in terms of uniqueness and personality.

One Piece has built its unique dynamic when it comes to detailed storyline and creative setting. Premiering in 1999, its animation and characters have grown over the past 2 decades. Naruto on the other hand, is an example of a perfect protagonist. Dragon Ball Z circles on the essence of a fast-paced, energy blasting, and a heart pumping kind of action. Though differs in style, one common ground people love about these anime Big Three is that they share the name when it comes to purpose, tonality, and political concept.

People tend to battle who the big three is: asking where it is widely guided and scoped in terms of time, length, character design, and animated background and etymology. People continue to watch these top anime series because it brings so much nostalgia– letting you experience your childhood all over again, a one of a kind expansive world building, and because it is very  fun to watch to the point that it makes you a little excited skipping one episode to another.  It is also a fact that the these three are manga readers approved. Anime fans also waited  on how things were accurately translated from print to screen, screaming in expectations of high.

Ever wonder how people also adapt to the old and growing population of anime these days?

Anime viewers are caught up in the idea that a lot of manga artists and writers created so much anime that they can’t choose from any. But knowing One Piece, Naruto, and Dragon Ball, who’ve established themselves in the market, an existing battle was a downright decision.

The recent rise of anime is due to more people around the world relating to its content, whether that be representation, plots, or characters.

We can’t help it. It’s a continuous development of everything anime-related but what’s good is that it’s not limited on sensitive topics but became truly diverse.

And while it’s not perfect, anime has since evolved, with many new generation anime series such as Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Fullmetal Alchemist. These shows portray strong female characters who are not only physically powerful but also mentally strong and complex characters with depth. Anime has also evolved to become more inclusive with more racially diverse characters and LGBTQ representation. Many famous anime series such as Banana Fish, Attack on Titan and Gundam 00 showcase queer characters.

After all these long battle of being such a fan from today back in time, people never truly forget the OGs. Questions and expressions rise at the back of those who grew their lives in the anime world: “Damn these episodes, how to keep going?”, “Holy smokes I can’t stop watching?!”,”What episode am I watching?”, and “I should probably never forget this one!”

Through and through thousand of episodes, the anime OGs really established a solid backbone to the millennials up to present. People adapt in the generation where they can relate so much despite the gap. If this makes you whole, be it.  All these years, it has been a battle of viewership through and through but you never forget the first and the original. The standards were made because these anime originals stood the highest first.
