In this time of pandemic, businesses were really hit hard. It didn’t limit to whether it was categorized in the food industry, design, clothing, and many other types of business.
And now that we live through this pandemic, businesses are up again—leaving no choice but to withstand the dilemma of this pandemic surge.
We might take it into consideration that business owners are also risk takers for it takes an ounce of courage, passion, and those two combined to come up with a business that you want to pursue, something that will sell.
On the other hand, small business owners also thrive in their own market to sell different pieces who are on the personal side like handmade earrings, crocheted garments, pre-loved books, toy and comics collections, and a lot more.
Ever wonder how they can sell stuff without putting up a shop while in the comfort of their homes? Live selling is the key. Posting is another one.
We usually see business owners investing on cellphone stands and ring lights because that is how they showcase their items. With a stable internet connection or data connection, with a room enough to accumulate proper lighting plus with a good audio background with less noise and you’re good to go.
TYPES OF SELLERS AND HOW THEY SELL
- The Facebook live type
Sellers on Facebook usually sell clothing and other household types of stuff like bath towels, curtains, and blankets. They earn their buyers by setting up live on Facebook and then waiting for their viewers and potential buyers to watch and buy items from them. They put disclaimers on their caption boxes that when you buy the product, there will be no room for cancellation or you can only type “mine” to reserve the product that you want.
Now, they have an additional “word” to comment like “steal” and “grab”. But most of the time here in Facebook live, you can only use “mine”.
The process goes after you put “mine” on the product. The seller will say a product code and you will put it together with the word “mine” for you to reserve and for the seller to have a clear direction with selling.
You may think that this is an impossible journey of selling because you’ll be asking, “What if they have limited friends?”
And to answer that, sharing is caring became the norm. Loyal and avid buyers share the Facebook live of the person in different retail groups or beauty groups and on to their walls and when people become interested, the buyers will grow, making it impossible for you to score some products that you want.
2. Facebook and Instagram posting
This is where “mine”, “steal”, and “grab” are applicable. People build their Facebook and Instagram shops out of aesthetic because people want things that are pleasant in the eyes.
Shops gain their followers through boost and paid advertising. It also gains something by the word of mouth, testimonies from other buyers, and sometimes from the support of small business owners.
The process goes like: Seller will put a description regarding the product, the price, and the difference it makes when you have three options.
You say “mine” to reserve the product to you, another option is “steal”—stealing the stuff from the miner, and then “grab” – adding additional pesos for the stuff to be automatically yours.
That is how it goes when the selling is about posting. It’s about who comes first to reserve, about who pays more, and how fast your fingers click.
It now becomes addicting because sellers also put their schedules and sometimes, they go live for longer hours most especially adjusting to the convenience of the people. It is now a habit inside a household to place their mine, steal, and grab aside from settling only to their Shopee and Lazada applications.
This is one of the most effective ways sellers earn their income while inside their homes and at the same time, while we benefit in that, it also gave buyers the satisfaction getting the product that they want and actually contributing to the needs of small business owners who exert so much effort in selling and producing.
