What makes a YouTuber an influencer?
What is that exact thing your favorite influencer promotes and then you buy?
YouTube already made its way on to our lives the moment we subscribe to a particular channel and religiously wait for uploads by YouTubers we admire the most.
It became the active platform of almost everyone in the industry as ways to produce content, incorporate branding, and generate income for views.
Guilty or not, these people who make contents have a lot to say and incorporate major changes in our own personal lives by selling their products to us. Well, it’s not actually the “selling” type but the way they promote the things that they use, the brand that they want. We are also drawn to the idea that maybe we want this too, that maybe this is something good for me too, or maybe this just fits right.
Here are some local YouTubers you might want to consider following:
Rei Germar
Rei Germar is one of the most followed digital content creators here in the Philippines. Her name started to make a noise in the YouTube industry in the year 2017 and it flourished its way on to the top now. The main topics of her vlogs are lifestyle, fashion, skincare, travel, and business. One of the most remarkable things Rei mentioned in one of her vlogs was that, she’s pro-people and pro-small business owners. She was always into cute, artsy stuff and that she will advocate for what she thinks is right. She also said that she chooses her brands and makes sure that her advocacy and beliefs line up to the beliefs of the brands she supports and will support in the future.
Some of the brands Rei promote are Snail White, BLK, Vicks, TRESemme, Gatorade, and Careline. She is now an ambassador for the luxury brand, Louis Vuitton.
Ry Velasco
Ry Velasco, daughter of the Filipino boxer Onyok Velasco, is a content creator who vlogs about lifestyle, fashion, and home. Ry is known for being the person who bought her own car at the age of 22 and is currently slaying the lifestyle of living alone. It’s an in-demand request for people to have her weekly updates with regards to living alone, with some home “budol” finds, and other things that she does for leisure. She goes on with her vlog by her iconic greeting to her viewers, her current life updates, and her bomb-ass music playlists which she shares to everyone.
Ry Velasco chooses her brand in line with a more personal advocacy which relates to her skin color. She has a Morena skin type and this paved way to be one of her contents—embracing skin and color just the way it is. And because of that, many Morena followers admire her and small local brands made their way up also. Ry promotes FRESH, Face Republic, Biore, Sanicare, and all things that include home aesthetics. She is also very much drawn into luxury brands like Christian Dior and Chanel.
Toni Sia
Toni Sia started off her career in the year 2016. She is one of those sophisticated and lowkey-ish type of person who is cool and has strong appeal. Kid you not, her channel mainly talks about fashion and lifestyle and turned out that it started to have content about things that concern body positivity. She has a curvy body type, voluptuous as you define it and she made her journey into fitness and people saw the amazing results and idolized her even more. She always talks and gives confidence to her viewers about embracing different body types, about welcoming change, and that fitness and fashion do not necessarily have to have standards of being skinny and white. She even opened a clothing line called Body Love Stretch and it’s a lounge set made for all body types. With her hashtag #ToniSiaMadeMeBuyIt, it became so famous that minutes upon her body set launching, it was already sold out.
Toni pick her brands that are beneficial, making it sure that brands do not only promote things for clout but also for realistic changes.
Some of her brands include Colgate, Olay, Neutrogena, Palmolive, and a lot more. She is actively promoting G-Max Keto, a keto drink which helped her lose weight and gain more confidence.
