Netflix released an animated short film called “If Anything Happens I love you” and it’s an award-winning film about loss, grief, gun violence, and sense of longing.
SYNOPSIS
This is about a couple having dinner—both seated at the opposite ends of the table. What catches as you watch this film is that they don’t communicate. Their worlds fall apart, full of shadows and misery.
You will ask yourself a lot of questions. But you’ll soon realize that they are grieving for the lost of someone.
Without any uttered word, this silent film is about a couple who lost their child to a school shooter. This film is hauntingly sad for it tackles how tough the situation is but there is no violence involved.
APPEAL AND ART
The appeal and movement made was very effective because it’s about real life tragedies, that there is an accessibility of guns in our society which can lead to dangerous acts like this one.
The art style presented all throughout is a 2D animation style and you can see that it might look like a sketch or a drawing of someone younger than the couple in this film.
