Baguio City being one of the most creative cities in the world never fails to surprise us with wonders. Each year is different, each year provides something new that applies to our taste that is also solitude.
One of the best places to look forward to is Mt. Cloud Bookshop.
Mt. Cloud Bookshop started from an owner’s dream. The owner, Padma Perez, always wanted to have this cute and cozy bookstore in which she knew that Baguio is the right place to have this built.
This bookstore was located at Casa Vallejo and is now currently at Yangco road.
From a tourist and local’s perspective, Mt. Cloud Bookshop isn’t only a bookshop that sells, but also a Baguio landmark.
THE BOOKSHOP
The aesthetic wood style of the entire place makes you want to add posts to your Instagram feed. They setup a wooden ladder and paper cranes are hanged on the wall. Mt. Cloud Bookshop is also filled with art installations from local artists in which you can take a good photo of.
There is also a designated reading section with comfy bean bag chairs and very aesthetic wooden tables. Some of the unique details inside the shop is that they also provided Cordilleran pieces—from traditional lamps and things that symbolizes Cordillera. In an overall, you get to feel the Baguio vibe, the books, plus good photos from all sides of the store.
Avid fans from this bookshop knows how magical this is every single time at night. They held open mic poetries here, children’s book readings, and many more events related to all forms of art and literature.
This is where Baguio artists also gather.
The bookshop is still open to all and things are now sold online. It is very wise and innovative that they pushed through online selling and pushed with live events.
