Snapchat was the former social media darling, who in the past years, won the hearts of its Filipino users. With every upgrading applications, wonder why Snapchat was tossed out of the bubble here in the Philippines?
Back when Instagram was currently developing, Snapchat was the go-to application of people who want to record their daily activities through Snapstreak or “Snap”—Instagram’s version of “stories”.
Snapchat’s era here in the Philippines was well-loved though at that time, it only gave few features and benefits to enjoy that’s why its competitors came to improve some apps that made people turn their backs to different apps.
Kid you not, Snapchat’s simple features like trendy filters and lenses were the coolest at that time.
LATEST UPDATE
Earlier this week, Snapchat announced that it will be having the most requested update of the century which is the change of usernames. Users will be allowed to change their usernames starting February 23, 2022 in for both Android and iOs users. Snapchat assured that the username change won’t affect the user’s account, its friend list, Snap codes, Snap cores, and memories.
Aside from that, Snapchat is also developing a feature wherein users can finally discover entertainment events within their vicinity or ‘Snap Map’, and this one is one exciting ride as it depends on your own preferences.
Other than the most requested update, Snapchat also improved the features when it comes to poll stickers, individual chat replies in group discussions, and the improved version of call—which makes it more personal.
Although Snapchat is rarely used here in the Philippines, it thrives a lot in different parts of the world including India, United States, Germany, and Pakistan, and United Kingdom.
