The long-awaited sequel of the 2009 hit ‘Avatar’ is here and we are getting all the goosebumps we need.
Disney announced at the CinemaCon that ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is finally happening alongside Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
In here, Avatar: The Way of Water will begin telling the story of Sully family including Jake, Neytiri, and their kids. Comes with all the troubles that follow them, they need to survive and go lengths to achieve all forms of survival and more of the tragedies they need to endure. Sounds like a very emotional upcoming film? Indeed.
13 years is a long time and James Cameron is surprising us with this follow-up movie. Well, what to expect?
Cameron never limits himself to all the things that he can do in an instant. He pushes technological boundaries in this type of filmmaking—merging underwater filming, performance capture by recoding, and a heavier style in visual effects.
Over the past few years, we’ve seen occasional behind-the-scenes looks at the filming of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, but Disney has been light on concrete details about the film or the latest release plan. The film has been delayed and rescheduled many times since its original projected 2014 release.
The film is planned to be released in a variety of formats, including 2D, 3D, IMAX and more.
The sequel stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Giovanni Ribisi, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Vin Diesel, Michelle Yeoh, Edie Falco, Cliff Curtis, and Jemaine Clement.
‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ will premiere in theaters on December 16, 2022.
