Anime fans, the world never fails to surprise us with a lot of good things ever since this new year began. What more we can ask for? Aside from Netflix giving us bomb-ass anime releases, other streaming sites are also there releasing us with good to great stories that trend every single time.
Aside from a very good anime plot, it also gives us a hell of taste in soundtracks and stunning visuals. It is everything we ever needed.
Here are some of the anime series coming this May you need to watch out:
GHOST IN THE SHELL SAC 2045
Despite getting controversies, this anime is being renewed for its second season. Ghost in the Shell is a Japanese original net animation based on the 1980s manga series of the same name by Masamune Shirow.
It circles on the year 2045—11 years after the events of Solid-State Society, after an economic disaster known as the Simultaneous Global Default which destroyed the value of all forms of paper and electronic currency, the “Big 4” nations of the world are engaged in a state of never-ending “Sustainable War” to keep the economy going. In this world, Motoko, Batou, and other members of Public Security Section 9 have contracted themselves out as mercenaries under the group “GHOST,” using their cybernetic enhancements and battle experience to earn a living while defusing hot-spots across the globe.
The second season is scheduled for release in May 23.
VAMPIRE IN THE GARDEN
Who would never want vampires in stories? I mean, come on. These types of stories sell and give us the perfect balance. Vampire in the Garden is a fantasy series that tells the story of a young girl named Momo, who is at her wit’s end. Just as she gets ready to leave this world behind, she meets a vampire named Fine.
From there, the two different species learn to co-exist in a world where humans and vampires despise each other greatly. If this is giving you all the feels and vibes, you should go check this anime out before the second season. Season two premiers on May 16.
SHIN IKKI TOUSEN
Also known as Battle Vixens in America, Ikki Tousen is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuji Shiozaki.
The series revolved around an all-out turf war in the Kanto region of Japan where fighters identify themselves as “toshi”—meaning, fighting soldiers. The story centers on Hakufu Sonsaku, a fighter who transfers to Nanyo Academy, one of the seven schools involved in the turf war. Hakufu Sonsaku the descendant of legendary conqueror Sun Ce, is a highly skilled fighter with a strong sense of personality who goes to Nanyo Academy where her cousin, Koukin Shuuyu, attends under her mother’s request. Her destiny, as with her predecessor, was to conquer all of the schools.
But there is a darker and more dangerous side to her fate, one that may change the entire course of their own history forever. This will be set on the 17th of May this year.
POKEMON MASTER JOURNEYS: The Series
You know it’s Pokémon and vibe with it. As Ash battles his way through the coronation series, Goh continues to his quest to catch every Pokémon available. This season continues the research fellowship adventures of Ash Ketchum, Goh and Chloe, as they travel across all eight regions, including the new Galar region from Pokémon Sword and Shield and the Galar region’s Crown Tundra from Pokémon Sword and Shield: The Crown Tundra, based at Cerise Laboratory in Vermillion City in the Kanto region.
We’re very excited to see the famous and familiar Pokémon and types—Pikachu, Cinderace, Eevee, and a lot more.
Pokémon Master Journeys will be out on Netflix this may 26th.
THE QUINTESSENTIAL QUINTUPLETS
This Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Negi Haruba follows the story of Futaro Uesugi who is hired as a private tutor for a group of identical quintuplets: Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki Nakano. At the very beginning of the story, it is shown that the events are being told in a flashback, while an adult Futaro prepares to marry one of the Nakano Quintuplets whose identity is only revealed near the end of the series.
The series is a commercial success, being the 5th best-selling manga in 2019, and the 3rd best-selling manga in the first half of 2020 in Japan.
Excited? Hop on it as it will be on screens this May 20.
