In this world where the Philippines has been making a noise in the world of Pop industry, we can’t help but bring pour our utmost support to all the groups who were there to literally raise our flags.
Also, we are one of the many nationalities who literally supports the K-pop industry, keeping inspired, and getting the things we can easily adapt.
Aside from the ever popular SB19 who gave us a great introduction and impression of our own version of stans, now we have BINI.
BINI is an eight-member Filipino girl group under Star Music. The group is composed of eight members: Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena. The group’s name was taken from the Tagalog word “binibini” which means “young lady”, a nod to the group’s vision to embody the idea of a modern Filipina, the sweet, fierce, independent, and the informed.
Fans of Bini are known as Blooms, with the infinity symbol replacing the Os taking inspiration from the group’s tagline “walo hanggang dulo” (Eight until the end). The name serves as a lovely reminder of Bini’s story and journey, a reminder for the beginning of springtime that there’s always beauty after every cold trial. It was chosen by the BINI members among the name suggestions of the fans during a special announcement livestream on February 13, 2021.
As of now, they made a splash in time for the summer heat. Their hit ‘Pit a Pat’ continues to make a noise for its exemplary statement in own style of their music, the BINI style. The dreamy electro-pop track was originally written by Korean singer-songwriter Sophia Pae with music composition and arrangement by Rohan and Ddank.
“Pit A Pat” was penned in a mix of English and Filipino lyrics—with the BINI girls taking part in the songwriting for the Filipino parts, against the backdrop of tropical beats and a symphonic rhythm, complemented by the empowering message of keeping headstrong through life’s obstacles and distractions.
