So, are you still wondering what’s going to happen with all those campaign paraphernalia left from the different parts in every city?
Although it may take a while for all the garbage and excess stuff to go away, kid you not—there’s this designer who transforms campaign tarpaulins into school bags. Yes, bags.
Mara Chua, a local fashion designer, has always been into design that empowers women. In fact, she is known for dressing up popular beauty queens in and outside our country.
Miss Universe 2017 Demi Leigh Tebow was one of the queen Chua recently glammed up—dressing her with a corset dress with bejeweled bodice creation during the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 coronation night.
Now, Mara Chua been upcycling things because according to her, “waste is a major problem after elections”, and that is true.
Apart from her statement, she also aims to help students and environment with these bomb-ass creations.
She mentioned that this idea came from a VP Leni supporter also known as a “kakampink”—to make bags and donate them to schools.
At the moment, Chua said that they’re looking for more tarpaulin donations and groups to partner with so they can distribute the bags already.
