We can’t help but notice that this year is filled with themes that tackle about alternate universe, different universe, and even strange universes. That is still a very cool way to portray a story because in films, they are delivered very opposite from each other and styles also vary.
With the trending films like Doctor Strange and A24’s Everything Everywhere All At Once, we can’t help but get excited in these kinds for it brings magic and sophistication.
What about on the anime side?
The two multiverse anime films were adapted from two novels, Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e and Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e, written by Yomoji Otono.
Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e or To Every You I’ve Loved Before tells the story of the protagonist who is a university student who lives with his mother after his parents’ divorce. One day, one person approached him and revealed that he is from an alternate universe that they are lovers. This anime will be animated by Bakken Record.
Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e or To The Solitary Me That Loved You tells the story of the protagonist who lives with his father after his parents’ divorce. One day, he met a girl at work at they started developing feelings for each other. This is a story of how these two will attempt to escape to a parallel universe where they can be together. This anime will be animated by TMS Entertainment, the studio that animated popular anime series such as Dr. Stone and Fruits Basket.
This anime films are so intriguing that it brought emotional feelings for excited fans because of the snippet and the trailer. It is a romance story about choosing your fate and deciding things on your own. The concept of two related films with different storylines is rather new and very promising.
These two multiverse anime films are set to be released this October 7.
