Familiar with that little girl with a pink hair on your timeline? Isn’t she just the cutest?
Spy x Family is a comedy series and is arguably one of the biggest anime series of this year. It follows the story of a spy that has to create a fake family for a mission and inadvertently ends up with a secret assassin wife and psychic daughter. The story centers on Twilight, a successful government spy whose latest mission requires him to infiltrate a prestigious school. To succeed, he needs a child and a wife, as ‘both parents need to be present’.
Based on the manga of the same name, this show ended up exploding all over anime social media, TikTok, and so much more for its wholesome nature. Well, if you’re not that really into anime, maybe this might be the one for you.
It’s wholesome for the fact that there’s no single character you wouldn’t like.
Though characters involve a spy and assassin, the way they interact and how the actions speak for themselves wouldn’t let you hate them. You’ll just love it to the core.
Even though their family is “fake,” as it’s all a part of Lloyd’s secret mission as a spy, they just work. Yor as a mother, being a literal assassin, is the perfect fit because she’s fierce about the ones she loves and will do anything to keep them safe. And Anya is, well, just Anya. Adorable.
Sometimes, we really don’t need to have a character’s tragic past be the center of their arc, and thankfully, Spy x Family recognizes that and instead focuses on the respectableness of the missions they are on – giving us cute family moments. This show is so funny. You wouldn’t expect it to be considering what the two main characters do for their jobs, but there are so many hilarious moments that are caused directly by both Lloyd and Yor’s secret professions.
Spy x Family is notable beyond comedy, exceeding expectations in the art craft in both manga and anime.
If you’re a big fan of a laugh-out-loud comedy series, this is definitely a must watch, a win-win situation for all.
