Who wouldn’t love to have products that are way nostalgic and cheerful?
It’s always fun and very creative to see brands who level-up their game and make concept that pays homage to their childhood and birth country.
Hana is the person behind of all of these cutesy, artsy, maximalist designs of makeup. Her cosmetics brand is called Filipinta Beauty and is based from Brooklyn, New York.
Filipinta embraces the broad spectrum of skin colors and in a very creative and nostalgic manner.
One of Filipinta’s finest is the lip tint and eyeshadow palette that was inspired by our very own ‘Lumpia’ snack. It dazzles in bright orange and will surely catch your eye in one sec. Every Filipino is mesmerized with this concept the moment they see it and it’s time to reminisce the times where people used to buy the snack at their local sari-sari stores.
They also have this very colorful Ube Cakes eyeshadow palette inspired from the Ube jam that is famous in the city of pines, Baguio City.
Filipinta also have this very cute Curly Tops inspired eyeshadow palette and we all know that Curly Tops is one of the most popular candy/chocolate that Filipinos used to have with their friends. This product is bringing people an awe moment.
Another one is their colorful gel eyeliners called Sleek-O—inspired by the popular Filipino wafer sticks, Stick-O.
Hana also made sure that some of her products will not only focus on Filipino snacks but rather on the Filipino culture itself. Some of her lip products and eye shadow lines were named from famous Filipino traditions during childhood and some of these were named on random Filipino names we know by heart like: Tingi Tingi, Halik, Kendi, and many more.
In one of her posts, Hana mentioned that they were releasing so many food-related collections because according to her, food tells the story of the Filipino people and it’s a big part of culture. It’s simple as that—FILIPINOS LOVE FOOD!
Because in food, it’s like bringing people back together—in every birthdays, fiestas, and grand reunions.
Hana can’t wait to explore more of what she can store in the next “handaan” care of Filipinta Beauty.
