What type of house would you want to build in the future?
This house from Iceland has this brutalism concept of architecture, and this modern concept was created by a genius architect and city planner, Le Cobursier, in 1952.
Brutalist architecture is an architectural style which emerged during the 1950s in the United Kingdom, among the reconstruction projects of the post-war era. Brutalist buildings are characterized by minimalist constructions that showcase the bare building materials and structural elements over decorative design. They are built in massive, monolithic and ‘blocky’ appearance with a rigid geometric style and large-scale use of poured concrete.
This design was formed by LYX Arkitekter and they’re a company that became a pioneer in the architectural field doing awesome projects in various concepts starting from the lofty designs, passing with the Islamic styles in decoration combining it with the modern design making outstanding artistic whole.
The house was designed on the form of flipped container but the sides of it was replaced with a panoramic glass guaranteeing a 360 degrees view on the beach in the ground floors. The ground floor contains living and dining room attached with a bathroom and a kitchen. The creativity of design is manifested in the terrace where you can see the whole view in front of you. The upper floor contains the fascinating master bedroom and a separate door for jumping into the spectacular panoramic pool.
The total space of the project is 750 sq.m with two floors.
