1. BLADE RUNNER 2049

Played by Ryan Gosling, a new blade runner for the Los Angeles Police Department, he unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. His discovery leads him on a quest to find a former blade runner who’s been missing for 30 years.

2. ENTER THE VOID (2009)

The story follows Oscar, a young American drug dealer who gets fatally shot by the police but continues to watch subsequent events during an out-of-body experience. Set in the neon-lit environments of Tokyo, this psychological drama film is written and directed by Gaspar Noe.

3. CHUNGKING EXPRESS (1994)

This sensitive comedy-drama by the great Wong Kar-wai uses stunning visuals, layered dialogue, and a unique narrative structure to challenge the boundaries of time and the imagination in between characters.

4. GOOD TIME (2017)

Starred by Robert Pattinson, it sets the timeline of a bank robber who stops at nothing to free his brother from prison, and launches himself into a whirlwind, night-long odyssey through New York’s dark and dangerous criminal underworld.

5. MOONLIGHT (2016)

A young African-American man grapples with his identity and sexuality while experiencing the everyday struggles of childhood, adolescence, and burgeoning adulthood.

6. THREE COLORS RED (1994)

This is a story about a part-time model, Valentine, who then meets a retired judge who also lives in her neighborhood after she runs over his dog. At first the judge gifts Valentine with the dog, but her possessive boyfriend won’t allow her to keep it.

7. DRIVE (2011)

A 2011 American action drama starring Ryan Gosling who plays the role of an  unnamed Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver.

8. AMELIE (2001)

Amélie is a fanciful comedy about a young woman who discretely orchestrates the lives of the people around her, creating a world exclusively of her own making.

9. LOST IN TRANSLATION (2003)

Written and directed by Sofia Coppola, this film is about a  faded movie star and a neglected young woman form an unlikely bond after crossing paths in Tokyo.

The film follows Theodore Twombly, a man who develops a relationship with Samantha, an artificially intelligent virtual assistant personified through a female voice.

12. IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE (2000)

The film portrays a man and a woman whose spouses have an affair together and who slowly develop feelings for each other. It’s a love story about love itself and how it lingers in the minds of its subjects far longer than any one relationship ever can.
