One of Sweden’s most famous retailers is teaming up with one of its most popular music groups on a collection for music fans.
The result of the collaboration is OBEGRÄNSAD, a limited collection that will enable the many rising creatives in music and digital arts to build the perfect home studio at an affordable price.
The OBEGRÄNSAD collection, which means ‘unlimited’ in Swedish, is a collaboration between IKEA and the electronic dance music group’s three members: Axel Christofer Hedfors, known as Axwell; Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso. It targets everyone who values music experience at home and beyond: music fans, music producers, DJs, and all creators with limited means but unlimited creativity.
OBEGRÄNSAD was designed to make the everyday music creator feel at home while producing art. The DJs understand that trying to unlock your inner mojo can sometimes be challenging, and having the right environment could help raise the beat for creative flow.
The entire collection of OBEGRÄNSAD comes in a sleek black lineup of solid silhouettes, approaching home furnishing with a minimalist touch while also sticking to Swedish House Mafia’s flair.
The OBEGRÄNSAD collection– which IKEA describes as “an affordable collection with the classic black aesthetic – features LED wall and floor lamps; stands for laptops, speakers, and records; a rug; slippers; and other accessories for enjoying music. The matte black record player in the collection is the first record player made by IKEA since 1973.
“Technology development has enabled democratization of music and music production, and the collection aims to support the creative pursuits of the many people creating, performing, and enjoying music at home.” IKEA said.
The line is planned to launch globally come October 2022.
