The Cebu-based designer was named by Time Magazine as rattan’s ‘first great virtuoso’ for using the material in his unique designs.

Cobonpue is known globally for his structural and often metaphorical luxury furniture, which often integrates native materials such as rattan, abaca, and bamboo that he molds into sculptural shapes using handmade techniques.

Among his famous clients are Queen Sofia of Spain, Queen Rania of Jordan, and former Hollywood power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
