Kamila Valieva just brought Jenna Ortega’s viral “Wednesday” Addams dance to the ice! When the 16-year-old Russian figure skater competed at the 2023 Russian Figure Skating Championships last week, she took inspiration from Jenna’s moves as Wednesday Addams in the hit Netflix series. ‘
She performs every move with perfect execution, leaning into Wednesday’s gloomy and intense expressions while performing the piece beautifully. Eventually, the music makes a switch to “Goo Goo Muck” by The Cramps, signaling the beginning of the viral Wednesday dance. Valieva’s choreography is an ode to the original piece created and performed by Ortega in the hit Netflix series, which has since taken over TikTok.
She nailed it as she added some unique moves to the tunes of Danny Elfman’s Wednesday Theme and “Bloody Mary” by Lady Gaga. While Valieva is one of the first to take the Wednesday dance to the ice-skating rink, she is not the only one who has recreated it.
According to Billboard, Valieva earned 247.32 points from the judges for her short program and free skate. But ultimately, she lost out to 15-year-old Sofia Akateva in the women’s senior championship division.
Valieva is known for being the first woman in history to land a quadruple jump at the Olympics. When she was 15-years-old, she amazed fans at her Olympic debut in Beijing when she did the quadruple jump twice on the ice.
