Florida-based artist Ian Woods excels in creating paper cut collage in portraiture style. According to him, he loves distorting faces and his artworks are based on people because he believes that everyone is different.
Paper Cut photo collage was made happen because nowadays, artists are forced to think out of the box to establish themselves. Along with street art styles paper cut collages are gaining attention among the artist who strives to express their creativity to the world. A paper collage is attaching different photos and paper onto the base sheet to form an artwork. Ian Woods does all the paper-cut works by hand with the help of an X-acto knife.
Apart from the artist reason, Ian Woods did Paper cut photo collage to restore his mental health. Woods’s creative process is anchored in mental health awareness and principles that influence both his technique and his aesthetic. Some of Woods’s designs for Made of Millions were also incorporated in Share Your State of Mind, an augmented reality (AR) experience and mosaic — launched by Yahoo as part of their Mental Health Awareness month content, composed of selfie portraits taken with filters designed around emotional acceptance and affirmations around mental health.
Many of the wavy, freeform lines and shapes that make their way into his work demonstrate how Woods’s aesthetic is an extension of his approach to life and art: Go with the flow.
“Those shapes are just me on paper, just going with the flow.” Woods said.
