Angel Galang is serving looks, sexiness, and peak kalye humor in Drag Race Philippines Season 3—and we love that for her.
Angel Galang is a 23-year-old drag queen hailing from San Andres Bukid, Manila.
In her introductory confessionals, Angel admits that she’s yet to achieve big things in her drag journey. In fact, Angel was up for elimination in the second episode, but Mama Pao chose to save her.
And that was the best decision ever—because who would have thought that the banal na trans-nene would make this year’s Drag Race PH the most iconic season yet.
Queen of Memes
Drag Race’s competition system challenges each queen to show peak charisma, exquisite looks, and unique talents, and use it to compete with each other for the grand crown.
The queens fight to dominate each challenge on stage, but there are extra episodes and snippets that reveal the queens’ authentic personalities off-stage and out of drag.
In spin-off episodes titled ‘Untucked,’ queens show peak competitiveness and brutal honesty (sometimes fueled by alcohol). Along with their confessionals, viewers definitely enjoy the drama borne out of it.
But with Angel Galang in the equation, this season’s Untucked episodes and confessionals turned from messy to trendy and hilarious!
Even though the race was only halfway done, Angel effortlessly claimed the title of this season’s ‘Trendsetter Queen’ by teasing Popstar Bench’s verse in the Girl Group Challenge—a tune that has lived rent-free in everyone’s minds.
“nakaupOowoOo~”
Add that to the list of words you can never say right again.
During Untucked, the queens get the chance to express themselves and their struggles for each challenge. Angel is not an exception, though she does it in her classic Angel-way.
“Pero, girl, thankful ako kay God kasi diba… binigyan niya ako ng ganitong mukha.”
Despite being funny and energetic, Angel is also known to be the “basag” queen, confidently and straightforwardly confronting other queens when they have issues.
“Fight tayo.”
Angel’s humor also helps diffuse tension between the other queens. In Episode 6 Untucked, Khianna expressed how unimpressed she was with Zymba’s flying harness performance and thought that her top spot was truly unexpected—an opinion Zymba took offense to.
But then…
“Kung alam ko lang na mag-aaway kayo because of that harness? Pinatanggal ko na ‘yon.”
Angel’s kalog and ditzy energy has infected the Werkroom with the laugh bug and won over the hearts of drag fans all over the world.
Why She’s The Perfect “Pang-Masa” Queen
She’s not doing the most, but Angel is definitely achieving the most during this run of Drag Race Philippines.
Her authentic self is enough to set the audience on fire and create memes that are sure to be timelessly trendy.
TikTok, X, and Facebook are filled with people’s reactions to her, and one thing they have in common? They all absolutely love her.
Beauty plus hilarity is a no-fail formula to gain the public’s love and support, which Angel has obviously accomplished. But her reach isn’t limited to those who want to laugh their hearts out.
Her genuine congeniality with her drag sisters and sincere support for her biological sibling in the competition, Maxie Andreison, has also touched the hearts of viewers. So even those who don’t relate to her humor also found a breath of fresh air amidst the show’s drama and tension.
Angel Galang has demonstrated that being proud and true to yourself is the best brand you could ever ask for and that authenticity will always resonate with the right audience.
Slaying Off and On Stage
Angel Galang is loved for her comedic moments, but make no mistake—she’s also one of the top contenders for this season’s crown.
Week by week, Angel slayed each challenge and served exquisite runway looks. Her most unforgettable feat was when she dominated this season’s Snatch Game, making it the most fun and iconic Snatch Game in Drag Race PH herstory—earning her first RuBadge!
We’re so glad Mama Pao saved her from elimination the first time around because Angel Galang is exactly what Drag Race PH needed.
We’re rooting for you, Queen!
