We Asked The Team Their Go-To Playlist While Working And Here Are Some Of Them

Music in the workplace is such a yes. It brightens up the mood and enhances your brain’s creativity.

Today, we asked the team about their go-to playlists. Let’s take a look at some:

BEHIND THE PLAYLIST

Bea’s Music

As someone who is responsible for organizing and managing the budget, Bea created a playlist where she can dump all songs to make her feel relaxed because it boosts her productivity. Her go-to playlist called ‘Bea’s Music’ is her total jam in which is a variety of old soul music up to Taylor Swift in particular.

“I still have to fix my Spotify playlist. I usually love listening to pop songs and exploring new music that’s trendy but at the same time, I love jamming to old music because I memorize the lyrics already by heart.”

The songs on repeat in Bea’s playlist are Heat Waves by Glass Animals and u&i by James Reid. When asked why, she said that it reminds her of their road trip together with her boyfriend and that James Reid’s song issa vibe.

Bea Gamboa is the Project Coordinator at XSM and she’s currently handling projects like Somisomi, Uhome, Acceso, and Condura.

In Your Area

Micah Morta, also known by the nickname ‘Morts’ is a big BLACKPINK fan. Can’t even recall the time and remember who’s her bias in the K-pop group. Lisa? Jennie?

Her task is a no joke: overseeing all posting and boosting at the XSM page, overseeing XSM hosting and domain servers, managing the XSM website, analytic reports, developing the client’s websites, and a lot more. In order for her to get a good grasp of good juju with all of these, her go-to playlist is the complete list of BLACKPINK songs. Go-to song? Money by Lalisa Manoban.

“Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit. Ginaganahan ako kapag ‘yan yung sound.”

Morts works as the Web Developer for XSM. Aside from getting what’s in her area through BLACKPINK, she’s currently working on system for internal purposes, client’s website, the XSM shop bundle promo, and the XSM media site update.

Just Disney Things

Lynn Loiz Distrajo is XSM’s Associate Creative Director. Her go-to playlists are the Disney playlist and another playlist for worship.

As someone who likes planning, she listens to music because it sets the mood and it helps her go on though the planning process—of the things needed to be done and the things needed to be accomplished.

Lynn is currently working on the project with Combi. Aside from producing designs for various projects, giving comments and revisions to clients, helping colleagues and interns, she does her research on several design pegs for projects and upcoming ones.

Right now, she’s working on the visuals needed to be posted on social media. At the same time, she’s also assisting the interns with regards to the Acceso website.

When asked about her go-to playlist, she answered:

Hmm, this is hard, there’s a lot and it sometimes depends with my mood. But my top would be Disney songs & Worship songs. It makes me feel good when I’m overwhelmed with a lot of things. I feel relaxed. I feel comforted.”

Her go-to songs are Goodness of God for worship and How Far I’ll go from Disney.

Trendy and Kpop-ish

Chris Danniel Autea is a Junior Copywriter at XS Multimedia. This is quite interesting, because we expected a lot of shift from music genres and then pandemic happened and there’s like a switch of everything.

Dan’s habit of checking what’s trending on Twitter made him catch up to the latest songs available. According to him, embracing the pop culture always excites him to look forward what’s new whether in terms of music, movies, tv series, and a lot more.

As a person who made a comeback listening into the K-pop world, Dan shared what his go-to playlist looks like.

“Re-entering my K-pop phase has changed the entire course of my life, so Seventeen and 2ne1 songs became my everyday go-to playlist.”

Aside from a couple of Seventeen songs Dan has been listening, he’s currently into our local zone with BINI’s I feel good and from Queen Bey’s Renaissance album ‘Cuff It.’

Hip Hop And Everything Rap

For Alfonso Santamaria, his go-to playlist changes depending on his mood. Like, aren’t we all?

His focus on music solely centers on 2010 to 2020’s hip hop, r&b, and rap.

A sneak peak of what Alfonso’s work looks like on a daily basis as a Digital Strategist includes overseeing social media accounts of clients and handling the execution of paid ads of the clients—managing them and making sure they are properly optimized.

If taking a hint, we should assume that Al feels a little bit of anything while listening to a playlist where everything of his preferred genre is included. His cup of tea includes songs from Drake, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, DaBaby, Lil Nax X, and many more.

When asked about the song that is On Repeat, he said:

“Right now, I’m feeling anything Travis Scott. Goosebumps to be specific. I don’t really make playlists on Spotify. I just go through my liked songs library hehe.”

Indie and Beer

For someone who eats pressure for breakfast, Patricia Ortega or Patch as we all know, describes her work as someone who basically creates meaningful relationships with multiple brands in hopes of them partnering up.
As a Junior Account Executive, Patch said that this job is like going on multiple dates with a team of wingman and meeting different people until she gets into a relationship and announce it in the office, if she’s trying to explain this to her grandparents. Silly, I know.

Her go-to playlist is entitled, “a pub hijacked my Spotify”.

“It’s a mix of 80s to 90s rock (and Kanye West) because my music taste was heavily influenced by my father who gave me my first mp3 and my uncle who gave me his hand me down iPod. I only had ten songs in my Spotify then and I was so stubborn to make a playlist about it but one time I went to a pub with my family. Overall, we really had fun that night, it was my first time to drink tap beer, my uncle got hit on three times, and the whole club sang teenage dirt bag. It really takes me back to that core memory so whenever I get stressed at work, it helps me focus on the good things in life.”

Right now, Patch focuses in the making of a whole proposal specifically for small businesses considering how the digital market is moving so fast and design is just getting more accessible and cheaper. She is also trying to curate a solution for that and also trying to figure out how to make a TikTok.
