The only way we can destress ourselves from the overwhelming workload we have for the week is through watching and binge-watching.
With streaming platforms like Netflix, HBO Go, Amazon Prime Video, Viu, iQiyi, and the upcoming Disney+ Philippines, we subscribe the hell out to avail all the amazing masterpieces and finish them in one go.
And what better way to get to know people is looking through the kind of films they usually watch.
Today, we asked the team what’s on their watchlist and here are some of them:
Senior Admin Officer Paula Dela Cruz is on the right track picking out some crowd favorite.
Currently watching: Little Women
This trending Korean drama tells the tale of the three sisters who got involved in a case that leads them to fight against the richest and most influential family in South Korea.
Always after what seems to be trendy and hot, next on her list is House of the Dragon—the television series which talks about the reign of the Targaryens based on G.R.RM’s Fire and Blood.
Austin Reyes on the other hand is the master of binge-watching. Trying to get some all the feels by re-watching one of K-drama’s most popular series in 2021, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.
Working as the Multimedia Editor, everything’s just working out with Austin having a long list of movies, anime series, and many others on his ‘CURRENT’ plate.
Series and movies include One Piece and Scorpion.
Digital Marketing Strategist Alfonso Santamaria is your typa guy when it comes to Documentaries and Biopics.
His current watch is Dahmer. Dahmer is a TV series that explores the motives of Jeffrey Dahmer and how he became one of the most notorious serial killers in America. His murders, which consisted of men and adolescent boys, were executed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Ohio between 1978 and 1991.
Alfonso’s next on the list would be Wakanda Forever—an absolute favorite. I wonder how did it go.
Angella Joves is XS Multimedia’s Content Writer.
She always struggles to find the perfect film or tv series to match her mood. Just in time, The Crown Season 5 arrived.
Consists of 10 episodes, The Crown’s Fifth Season talks about the unflattering episodes revolving around the lives of King Charles III in his days as the Prince of Wales, the late Queen Elizabeth II, and other royals. This season is dubbed as the most controversial one.
Aside from that, Angella suits up the mood by re-watching Fleabag—a British comedy-drama television series created and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Next on her watchlist? On The Job and Emergency Declaration.
Micah Morta is the person to ask when you’re in dire need of a Rom-Com, Comedy, and Mystery film recommendations.
Morts, one of the biggest binge-watchers here in XSM, is currently watching Yumi’s Cells, Naruto Shippuden, Vincenzo, and Spy x Family. That’s a lot, really.
Yumi’s Cells is a great recommendation if you’re into K-drama and animation at the same time. It talks about a woman who is not good at expressing her emotions. Yumi has cells in her brain that represent different emotions like love, violence, rationality, good, and bad. These tiny cells in her brain work actively for her and they deal with her emotions and troubles.
Her next in line tv series include Yumi’s Cells 2, May I Help You, and Shooting Stars.
Yan Nariz is XS Multimedia’s Senior Copy Writer and his current (maybe finished now) watch is Enola Holmes 2. Enola Holmes 2 talks about her first case as a detective, but in order to unravel the mystery of a missing girl, she’ll need some help from friends and brother Sherlock.
Well, if you’re a big Sherlock fan, this may excite you as there were Sherlock-Moriarty crossovers inside this film. When asked about Yan’s current watch list, he said:
“No plans really, just depending on the mood. I like to read plot summaries so it’s whatever piques my curiosity.”
Talking about Yan’s go-to and favorite film genres, he answered:
“I like Slasher films but they don’t make them like they used to. The films I watch range from fantasies to adaptations based on real-life stories. I don’t have time for drama lol.”
