Many mobile apps come and go throughout the year. Some of these apps don’t leave much of an impact, some may be in trend for some time, but eventually fades out into oblivion.

However, some mobile apps leave a lasting impact on people and prove to be helpful. Let’s take a look at our predictions on apps that may occupy a permanent space in your mobile phone in the next 6 years.

  1. Line app

The line app was released in June of 2011 in Japan. Line is a messenger app used to connect to people just like Watsapp, Viber and Facebook Messenger. But the unique feature of this app is that is is free and has cute stickers. Everybody knows that one of the significant weaknesses of Japan is anime.

The Line app leveraged this cultural behavior  and won their hearts. Many people outside of Japan also use this app, such as Korea, China and Thailand.

The colorful advertisement also plays an essential role in its success. Many cute and humorous stickers used in their online ads instantly captured the younger demographic.

By 2020, the revenue of Line had reached USD 1.51 billion. And this app is just growing more and more. It will not be a surprise if, in the next six years, Watsapp is replaced by Line.

  1. Looker

Looker is a platform founded by Frank Bein in 2011 and was bought by Google in 2019 as part of the Google Cloud Platform.

Looker is a helpful app, especially for startup businesses. It is a simple functioning app that helps you get insights into business fundings, revenue, and analytics.

This app is very helpful as it will give you an idea about the business industry. Looker has an estimated annual revenue of about $140 million.

All of these apps are the ones that has the potential to be purposeful in our daily lives. These apps are slowly getting a strong foot hold in the digital world.

The factors why we think these apps will be popular:

  • Initial user base
  • Trajectory
  • Functionality
  • Revenue
  • Funding

We saw the same kind of flight path with the likes of Watsapp, Viber, Slack and Carousel. We certainly believe that in the next six years, these apps will be a household name and will be in every person’s mobile phone.
