Recently, Pinterest has launched a health support initiative, Pinterest Havens, that deals with mental health issues. It is a collection of several images that will give its users a sense of relaxation and calmness. Pinterest Havens serves as the anti-burnout oasis in the crowded online realm.

It includes photos of waterfalls, nature, and animals among other things. All of these sets are related to rest and wellness that was curated by Pinterest health experts to facilitate people that suffers from mental health issues.

The mental and emotional well-being of an individual is one of the top priorities of Pinterest as the platform wants to create a positive space in the internet.

Apart from just creating awareness, Pinterest is also interested in helping people who suffer from serious mental health issues. They partnered with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to prevent people from committing suicide.

Funding to Mental Awareness Organizations

Another big step of Pinterest that shows its concern about mental health is the $10 million worth of donation to organizations such as The Trevor Project, Rising Ground, The Steve Fund.

These companies are deeply involved in emotional well-being services and on a mission in preserving life-loving communities.

Mental and emotional health activities have been included in the Pinterest app. These activities help you to get rid of your anxiety, stress and other mental health issues.

The site directs you to the free Pinterest app when a person searches for anything anxiety and stress related. Pinterest wants to be a safe space for its users to speak about their emotions.

Pinterest and #HalfTheStory Collaboration

#HalfTheStory is all about the healthy use of technology. It is a non-profit organization with a vital mission to empower the next generation’s relationship with social media. This collaboration aims for the younger generation to develop a safe and healthy approach with technology.

The prevalent misuse of technology usually results in mental health issues especially in teenagers.

Exercises on Pinterest to Combat Mental Health Issues

Pinterest also helps its users to fight mental health issues through specific activities. Some of which are images of breathing and yoga to inspire people get rid of stress and anxiety.

To promote this, Pinterest created compassionate search. A single tab wherein you can find emotional support activities that helps improve your mood. All of these exercises fall into dialectical behavior therapy aids in calming the body and mind.

Pinterest uses specific practices such as Cool Down or Redirect Energy to help people fight mental health issues. These self-help activities are available to several countries including the Philippines, USA, UK, Brazil, Germany, India, Australia and Canada.
