5 Tips To Identify Your Niche

You might be thinking at one point somewhere along the line— “where do I belong?”

It’s a hard question we often ask ourselves at the end of the day but it’s a question that matters all throughout.

In starting a business, when you have all the means in providing so, deciding where to land is the most difficult one and that’s okay. It’s a daily struggle most entrepreneurs think all the time and not knowing your niche yet is just the beginning.

Here are some tips to list down where you’re in a constant strife of thinking about where to belong:

KNOW YOUR SKILLS AND PASSION

This is you. You know yourself better more than anyone else in the world. Get a piece of paper and write down all the things you’re passionate about including the ones you like doing during your spare time. This may actually sound like a basic chore for you to do, but in listing down, you’ll discover more of the things you didn’t know you could do. It could spark an interest whether you may want to pursue this or not.

The talents inside you are either innate or developed so list them all down. Your past experiences aren’t there for northing.

It can be about food—thinking on how you would want to add on that pizza dissimilar to Yellow Cab or Pizza Hut?

A coffee place that isn’t Starbucks and Tim Horton’s? Or something unique like incorporating your favorite TV show like Big Bang Theory on your café or your flower shop to a classic movie—Pride and Prejudice, perhaps?

UNDERSTANDING YOUR AUDIENCE

This time, you should consider how will you sell?

This is still about you but we’re talking about strategy here. Problems will rise, yes that’s true but make sure you’re ready to troubleshoot them or you’re prepared for what’s worst.

While avoiding the worst, you have to do a lot of research on the specific niche you’re working on. Treat it as a battlefield. A good business person can solve problems while the customers are there. Talk to people, check your competitors, go outside and observe. This is not all about you. Building a business and establishing a niche should be a two-way street. Think outside of the box because even if there are no problems arising, you should be looking for one in order for you to solve them beforehand.

CHECK YOUR COMPETITORS

You just can’t build other things that of the same when you can improve. Having the same location with a competitor is the real challenge. But the real challenge to you would depend on what you put on the table, on what you can offer.

Analyze your competitors. Study them. Know what you can do to improve services, what do they lack so you can avoid. Most importantly, how will you be different among the rest? How will you make that potential customer come to you?

BEING CREATIVE IS A MARKETING STRATEGY

Your skills should level up top-notch when you aspire to excel in the specific niche. You will need things in grandeur to show people your capabilities, your lengths to go with marketing your stuff, and the infinite whys on why should they avail their product or consume your goods.

Better be prepared with unleashing your creativity style. Use high-quality visual in all your posters and other printable materials. Study how successful businesses market their niche and think ways on how to improve. It’s an endless amount of studying and it’s a must. Build rapport by connecting to people. Promote it with your friends in a lowkey a manner and they can promote it too. Word if mouth helps.

TEST YOUR NICHE AND LEARN ON THE WAY

This is the time where you apply it all. Test your niche on particular marketplaces. This is the crucial but nothing worth having comes easy—you’re developing, always remember that.

Connect with all your target markets on social media, join tons of groups and forums available, engage with your audience through connecting with them personally using video chat or livestreams, offer free launching freebies and testers. Go out of your box. Be uncomfortable because that is when growth takes place. You will always have a place.
