Saoirse Una Ronan is an Irish American actress famous for her movies people grew up watching with, Lovely Bones and City of Ember. She made her first TV appearance in with small roles in few episodes of the TV series ‘The Clinic’ in 2003. Her big break came with the part of a precocious teenager in ‘Atonement’, for which she was nominated at the Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress.

Ronan’s stellar performance is the reason why she’s the new leading lady of this generation, she’s also one of the sought-after actresses of today that redefines her personality both in real life and stage.

LADY BIRD

BROOKLYN

Saoirse Ronan received her first Academy Awards for Best Actress Nomination for her lead role as Eilis Lacey in the historical romance, Brooklyn. It is a film about an Irish immigrant who arrives in New York seeking employment. She then meets and marries an Italian-American plumber Tony, but was forced to return home after the sudden death of her sister.

Brooklyn is a film that let us learn about not to dwell on our past but move forward and find joy with the present situation.

LITTLE WOMEN

This seventh-film adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s ‘Little Women’ gave Ronan her fourth nomination in portraying Jo March in this Greta Gerwig’s masterpiece. This novel follows the story of four sisters: Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy—their life growing up during the civil war.

It’s basically a story about childhood memories and how we desperately seek and hold on to them, the act of pursuing our own destiny, and things in between. Her sisters in this movie were played by Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, and Eliza Scanlen.

THE LOVELY BONES

Childhood ruined? Absolutely!

The Lovely Bones is about the narrative story of a 14-year-old Susie Salmon who was brutally murdered and now watches her family from heaven. She observes her daily lives as she retells her own story, bringing up some precious memories that help us get to know her.

This is an adaptation of Alice Sebold’s novel in 2002. The emotional core that this film gave us is an epitome of our relationship with heavenly creatures with such effects deeply rooted together with the relationship we have just to protect our family.

ATONEMENT

In here, she plays the role of Briony Tallis who aspires to be a writer but is very naïve with regards to the world and her surroundings. Things began to change as when Briony change the course of their lives by accusing her older sister’s lover of a crime he did not commit. ‘Atonement’ is based on Ian McEwan’s novel that is a romantic drama with side stories of false incrimination its consequences over 60 years.

Saoirse Ronan was just 12 years old when she auditioned and won this role and it’s one of her critically-acclaimed films of all time.

HANNA

Hanna’s storyline is jampacked with action that’s this action film is one of the crowd’s favorite when it comes to Ronan’s performances. Her role is about a teenage girl raised by her father to be the perfect assassin since she was two years old.

After her father sends her on a mission in Europe, a CIA agent began to pursue her and was able to track and eliminate her at the course. This is an action-thriller film beautifully portrayed by Ronan is an absolute fairytale of growing up and action into one.
