The Best Apple Commercials Of All Time

Apple commercials have always had something special and they can never deny the fact that it got to us: funny, memorable, and will sometimes got you thinking. These commercials are inspiring, motivating, and might look like it “attacks” the competition in a friendly manner.

Apple made sure that everyone will be struck in one of their favorites here.

Take a look at some of the best advertising moments in Apple’s history:

1984 Super Bowl Commercial

In 1984, Apple introduced the Macintosh personal computer during the Super Bowl with a clear and creative vision. Directed by Ridley Scott, “1984” became what some consider the greatest TV ad of all time — it’s even in the Clio Awards Hall of Fame. After the ad came out, Apple went on to sell 72,000 computers in 100 days, twice as many as had been anticipated, according to Forbes.

The Quadra Revolution (1991)

This is one of the most favorite apple commercials of all time according to some reviews with people who are into commercials. With the best Apple adverts, like 1984, Think Different and Snail, it’s not immediately apparent what they’re getting at. The Quadra Revolution fools you into thinking you’re watching a car advert, before pulling out to reveal the computer. Genius, isn’t it?

“Hello” iPhone Commercial (2007)

There were a lot of questions revolving around the iPhone back then. Like, a phone without buttons? How dramatic is that? Apple wanted to showcase a mind-blowing, revolutionary product. Perhaps the thing Apple wanted us to know first about the iPhone was that we already knew how to use it—just say “hello.”

iPhone 5 – Photos Every Day (2013)

The Photos Every Day ad for the iPhone 5 is one of the simplest, non-pushy ads Apple has ever produced. The awkward selfies and people stopping to take pictures of a brick wall or the scenery on a run are all every day situations you’ll see walking down the street. Apple has always been about empowering individuals, non-professionals, even—to be more creative in their daily lives. Who knew that would actually come true?

iPod Silhouette (2004-2011)

This type of commercial for their iPod made a lot of good impression not only for viewers and consumers, but also for marketers. That in the end, it’s not about selling a product at all. It’s about selling an emotion—a feeling.  The longstanding series of iPod “silhouette” commercials didn’t show the actual product itself in them, but instead sold what is “cool” and “iconic” which became very effective.

Get a Mac (2006-2009)

This wasn’t the first time Apple tried humor, but it may have been their first successful attempt. Tackling the PC market head on, Apple put together an award-winning campaign that personified their Mac computers as the cool, laidback Justin Long and the PC as an overly-serious, Dwight Schrute type. This commercial shows how Apple treated the growth of Macs toward the end of the 2000s and certain big controversies such as Windows Vista.

Think Different – The Crazy Ones (1997)

Steve Jobs was back at Apple and with this commercial, it was made clear to the whole world. Without a mention of a single product, this monumental ad was still somehow about Apple and Steve Jobs but also about yourself and your little niece and still somehow also about Martin Luther King Jr. and John Lennon.

Some viewers said that this ad made them teary-eyed, so subtle and profound. Apple has conjured some of the most powerful tools to enable all kinds of creativity from past to present up to date.
