Coca-Cola is partnering with Brown-Forman to make a new canned cocktail combining Coke and Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey.
Both regular and zero sugar versions will eventually be released globally, but the new drink will debut in Mexico.
The drink giants announced that they plan to keep their identities front and center, with the packaging slated to “feature two of the world’s most recognizable and valuable trademarks.”
CEO and president of Brown-Forman Corporation, Lawson Whiting, said that this relationship brings together two icons to deliver a taste experience in which consumers will love in way that it is consistent, convenient, and portable.
Meanwhile, James Quincey, chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company, added that they have to keep the consumers as the center of their everything. He said that they will continue to develop our portfolio as a total beverage company, and that includes new products with their iconic Coca-Cola brand.
The drinks will include “clear responsibility symbols” to indicate the beverage is for legal-aged drinkers. It will typically have 5% alcohol by volume, but that will vary depending on country.
The product will roll out in Mexico late this year as a first step to worldwide distribution. Mexico was picked as a launch market because both brands are popular there and the country has a well-developed ready-to-drink market.
